Unique in the 175 year history of the school we had an airborne visit from … Santa! The children were thrilled as his helicopter landed on our field. This was a dream come true as they had written a letter the previous week asking him to visit. And he stayed to sing some carols with us before flying off back to the Royal Naval Air Station at Yeovilton. We’re delighted at the magic this produced and the story made the Western Gazette with three lovely photos on Boxing Day.
We should also like to thank the Western Gazette for their wonderful front page splash headlined Doing their bit for Children in Need. This appeared on 21st November with a lovely photo of the pupils all decked out in their pyjamas which were voted the uniform for the day by the School Council. We so appreciate the wonderful support we get from our local paper!
We had our Christmas lunch which everyone enjoyed. All the staff attended, enjoying music, pulling crackers and sharing jokes.
Nursery, Reception and Years 1 & 2 did two performances of their Nativity which was very touching and much enjoyed!

Finally, Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum! The whole school went to the panto at Westlands. This was Jack & the Beanstalk and I’m told that the Head Teacher was seen booing the giant and dancing. Hmmmm. We all got soaked by water pistols aimed at us from the stage. Note to self: don’t sit in the front row again! Many thanks to the PTA for providing the coaches. It was a lovely way to finish the year and we all had a fantastic time!
