Learning with purpose
Our curriculum brings together knowledge, creativity and personal growth. Through our Discover, Explore and Create themes, children build on what they know and develop the skills to take their next steps.
Strong foundations
Our teaching builds knowledge from the early years through to Year 6, with reading, writing and mathematics at its heart.

Our curriculum vision
At St Margaret’s, our curriculum is crafted to spark creativity, nurture personal growth, and equip children with the skills and mindset needed for life beyond the classroom. We are committed to delivering rich, memorable learning experiences that foster strong relationships, emotional resilience, and a deep appreciation for mental health and wellbeing.
Our approach is rooted in a well-structured, knowledge-rich curriculum that aims to inspire every learner and support high levels of achievement. We encourage pupils to develop expertise across a range of subjects—from history and geography to science and the arts. Through our themed terms—Discover, Explore, and Create, children are invited to fully engage in their learning journey and embrace curiosity and adventure.
Building Knowledge with Purpose
A successful curriculum depends on secure, cumulative knowledge that grows year by year. Our teaching teams collaborate to plan subject content from EYFS through to Year 6, ensuring continuity and progression are central to every child’s experience.
We are proud to be working with the Boolean Maths Hub to embed a mastery approach in Numeracy, and our Literacy leads are partnering with the Cornerstone Hub to strengthen reading and writing outcomes. The introduction of the Little Wandle phonics programme ensures our teaching aligns with national guidance and supports early reading development effectively.

Curriculum Impact
Every aspiration is valued – whether a child dreams of becoming a scientist or a dancer, their goals are recognised and respected equally.
Children experience a vibrant, broad, and engaging curriculum that motivates and inspires.
Pupils progress through each stage of their education as confident, resilient problem-solvers, ready and eager for what comes next.
Our learners grow into well-rounded individuals who appreciate diversity, understand global perspectives, and celebrate differences.
Children set high standards for themselves and strive to meet them.
