Well, February was a very busy month, even by St Margaret’s standards! Safety Week saw a community police officer visit us to talk about possible dangers of social media. Sadly, cases of grooming and abuse of young people are all too frequent, so such meetings are really important. There was a very open talk with the elder children (10 and 11 year-olds) and things were learnt by both parties!

Police officers also reported in full gear to meet the reception class and there was huge excitement among our 4-6 year-olds. They explored all the equipment carried in the heavy jackets (think Happy Valley!) and went outside to the squad car to see a stinger in the boot. Imagine their joy when the officers set off their siren!

We also had our OFSTED visit over two days and will have the result by Easter. This was the first Inspection in 6 years.

Lastly, we had our Ash Wednesday service at St Margaret’s Church in the village where all the school attended – that’s 86 pupils and 10 staff. The children are thinking long and hard about how they are going to prepare for Lent.
