On the 21st of October, our Year 3 and 4 adventurers travelled back thousands of years during an incredible day at the immersive history field centre at New Barn. From the Stone Age to the Iron Age, they discovered how people lived, worked, and adapted as new materials like bronze and iron transformed their world. Throughout the day, the children rolled up their sleeves and tried their hands at ancient crafts — grinding grain into flour, mixing natural medicines, sparking fire, and even churning butter! To top it all off, everyone created their very own chalk carving to take home — a perfect memento of a day spent walking in the footsteps of our ancestors.
