Happy Tears. December was a short month at the school with term ending on the 15^th. But we packed a lot in!  We went out with the Yeovale Rotary Club, pupils on the School Council and two teachers to distribute Christmas boxes to the elderly and vulnerable in the village. The boxes contained Christmas cake, chocolates, a mince pie and a home-made card. Each box was wrapped with a ribbon and bow by the children, who loved doing this. One lady was so emotional when receiving her gift that she wept and one of our little ones said: “I don’t want to do this anymore if it makes people cry!” I had to explain that these were happy tears. We gave 60 boxes in all.

Big Smiles. Over two days in the second week of December we put on our Nativity Play where all the children took part and sang and acted with all their hearts! It was wonderful and worth all the weeks of preparation and rehearsing. The performances brought big smiles to people’s faces.

Silent Night. Just before the end of term we had our school Xmas lunch followed by the Carol Service at St Margaret’s Church. Many parents came with the whole school and the church was jam packed with a total of 135 attending. Keira in Year 6 sang Silent Night and we were all entranced!
