June: What month! For The Jubilee we drew and painted many portraits of The Queen, made her a bouquet of paper flowers and then displayed them in the Church.  We had many compliments about our children’s portraits.

Lots of our pupils attended the village fete and I even received a Happy Birthday song from the villagers!

Explorer class went on a visit to Axe Valley Wildlife Park and had a wonderful day.  They met many fascinating animals and even managed to feed some meerkats! We had some lovely feedback from the Park to say what wonderful children we have and how well they had represented the school. 

Our Year 4 & 5 children completed their training and are now Young Mental Health Ambassadors!  Year 6 went on their residential to Adventure Bude and took part in activities such as: wild swimming, mountain boarding, high ropes and abseiling.  A wonderful time was had by all and from the tired looking faces on their return, I imagine there may have been a few late nights!

July – Sports day!  Lovely to welcome families back into school and to be able to hold a traditional sports day – the first in two years. Everyone had fun and the PTA very kindly supplied tea, coffee and cake!

Year 3 and Year 4 had a street dance session with Razzamatazz Theatre Schools tutors – they certainly know all the cool moves! 

Our little ones in pre-school held their Annual Graduation Ceremony.  They were all dressed up in caps and gowns and told us about their future dreams.  We had everything from a doctor to a purple unicorn! 

Our Year 6 cohort put on a wonderful performance of Alice in Wonderland, they were impressive, confident and demonstrated an excellent sense of comic timing. 

The Year 6 Leavers’ Assembly followed Alice and all was going very well until the first tear appeared.  (Oh dear! It was the class teacher!)  The realisation then that they were actually leaving us soon spread and there was a rush for tissues.  Despite the intense emotions, the children still managed to share their favourite memories of St Margaret’s and their future ambitions.

July came to a very sunny end for school and we were more than ready for a summer holiday!
